Timor Sea

Description

This sea, much of which is on continental shelf, is part of the Indian Ocean and lies between Timor, the southern Moluccas and Australia. Its borders with neighboring seas are ill defined.

There are two important natural gas field locations: Scott Reef, 300 kilometers northwest of Cape Leveque (Australia); and the fields of the Northwest Shelf Venture, north-northwest of Dampier (Austalia).1
