The metropolitan area of غزة (Ghazzah or Gazzah or Gaza), which has 1.9 million residents, extends into northeastern مصر (Miṣr or Egypt). It is centered beyond Egypt in the غزة (Ghazzah) Strip.
The two largest cities are القاهرة (al-Qāhirah)--with over ten million metropolitan residents--and الإسكندريه (al-Iskandarīiyah). The metropolitan area of القاهرة (al-Qāhirah) includes two other cities with more than a million residents: al-Jizāh and Shubrā al-Khaymah. الإسكندريه (al-Iskandarīiyah), facing the sea in a 'C', is just northwest of the Nile's westernmost distributary.
