Norwegian Sea

Description

This vaguely defined sea lies between Norway,1 Greenland2 and Iceland.3 Its northwestern bound is not consistently agreed on, but some would mark it along the Jan Mayen Ridge. Its eastern bound is easier: from the southern tip of Spitsbergen south to North Cape, Norway, via Bear Island. Most of it is beyond the continental margins--reaching depths beyond 4000 meters, and it is part of the Atlantic Ocean. Oil and gas fields include the Snorre Gas Field, Heidrum Oil Field and Snøhvit Gas Field.
