Greenland Sea

Description

This sea, according to some part of the Atlantic Ocean, lies between Greenland(1) and Svalbard. Other than the Denmark Strait and Iceland, its south bound is loosely defined; some would say it follows the Jan Mayen Ridge. Its northern bound is easier: from the northweast tip of Greenland to the northwest corner of Spitsbergen. The northern part of this sea is within the Arctic pack ice. Its center is beyond the continental margins and reaches depths of near to 5000 meters.
