This passage connects the Pacific Ocean and the Scotia Sea, and is part of the Atlantic_Ocean.html. It is shallow--less than 200 meters deep. The western Shetland Islands separate the passage proper from the icy Bransfield Strait, which lies just north of Antarctica's Palmer Peninsula. North of the passage are the islands at the bottom of South America.
