Sea¹ of Marmara²

Description

This small oval sea is the middle part of the Turkish Straits which connect the Meditteranean and Black Seas. More precisely it connects the Dardanelles³ to the Bosporus⁴. The waters separate Thrace in Europe from Anadolu⁵ in Asia and reach 1207 meters deep. It is named for the largest island in the sea. It is deemed part of the Atlantic waters.
