The Bosporus1

Description

This is the easternmost part of the Turkish Straits, which are Atlantic waters. It connects the Sea of Marmara to the Black Sea and separates Thrace in Europe from Anadolu2 in Asia--except for the 1075 meter suspension bridge that crosses it and holds together the two parts of Istanbul. It is as narrow as 640 meters while being 15 nautical miles long and 70 meters deep.
