The Øresund (the Sound) is the south-southeastward strait that connects a sea passage, the Kattegat, to the Baltic Sea. It is no less than two nautical miles wide and relatively shallow. It, and the Kattegat, separate Sverige1 from Danmark1, except that there is a bridge from København1 to Malmö. It is part of the Atlantic's waters.
