The Kattegat is a south-southeastward sea passage that connects another passage, the Skagerrak, to the Øresund. It is no less than 12 nautical miles wide, relatively shallow and 225 kilometers long. It, and the Øresund, separate Sverige1 from Danmark2.It is part of the Atlantic's waters.
