मुणे (Puṇe)

मुणे (Puṇe),¹ महाराश्त्र (Mahārāhtra),² भारत (Bhārat),³ has a metropolitan population of 5.976 million--3.2 million in the city proper.⁴ It is located at the eastern edge of the Western Ghats, at the confluence of two of the Bhima's headwaters. Mounuments include an 18th century fort, Shaniwar Wada, and the National War Memorial. The metropolitan area includes a city with over a million residents, पिपरी (Pimpri).

पिपरी (Pimpri)⁵ is located in the northwest of the Puṇe metropolitan area. The city has 1.4 million residents,⁴ and is an industrial hub, especially for automobile companies.
