Piedmont Triad

The Piedmont Triad comprises the anchoring cities of Greensboro, Winston-Salem and High Point and is located in the Piedmont of the Appalachian Range in of North Carolina, United States of America. It has a metropolitan population of 1.603 million.1 Two hundred seventy-seven thousand live in Greensboro, 234 thousand in Winston-Salem and 107 thousand in Chapel Hill.2 The tallest building in the three cities in early 2014 was 100 North Main Street, Winston-Salem (34 stories, 1995), the world's only granite-domed skyscraper. Another famous building in that city is the Reynolds Building (21 stories, 1929), which was used as a model for New York's Empire State Building.3
