ਪੰਜਾਬ, हिमाचल परदॆश, हरियाणा, चंडीगढ़ and डिलली (Panjāb, Himāchal Pradesh, Hariyāna, Chanḍīgarh and Dillī) |
ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ (Ludhiāna),1 located east of the center of ਪੰਜਾਬ (Panjāb),2 south of the current course of the Sutlej River, is the state's largest city with 1.801 million metropolitan residents,3 of which 1.614 million are in the city.4 Its clock tower is its notable monument. It is on the Grand Trunk (rail) Road between डिलली (Dillī)5 and ਅੰਮਿਰਤਸਰ6 (Amritsar). The tallest buildings are the nine Royal Residency towers (estimated 168 feet, 2008).7
