León de los Aldama, is the largest city in Guanajuato State, México, and is located in the plateau of central México at nearly 6000 feet elevation. It has a population of 1.3 million, 1.9 million in the metropolitan area.1 The tallest building is the residential tower, Torre Rembrandt, with 24 stories. It is known for its Catedral Basílica de Neustra Señora de la Luz and the Sanctuario Expiatoria del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, both Christian churches, the first built in the 18th and 19th centuries, the second in the 20th century. The city's traditional economy is leather goods.
