Labrador Sea

Description

This northwest piece of the Atlantic Ocean sits between the northeast Canadian mainland and southwestern Greenland and is southeast of Baffin Island. Davis Strait(1) connects it northward to Baffin Bay while to its southeast is the rest of the Atlantic Ocean. Its center depths, named either the Mid-Oceanic Canyon or North Atlantic Mid-Ocean Channel, drop below 3000 meters. Icebergs drift southward with the help of the cold Labrador Current while the northwest flowing West Greenland Current makes southwestern Greenland the best part of the island.
