Gold Coast

Gold Coast is the name of a city that is the center of a resort stretch along Queensland's southern coast in Australia.1 It had a 2001 population of 377 thousand2 and has the world's tallest apartment buildings: the Q1 Tower at 1058 feet and 80 stories, which houses a tropical rain forest garden at the 60th floor.3 The Gold Coast-Tweed Heads airport is one of the Australia's busiest.4
