This bay, part of the Atlantic Ocean, is surrounded by islands except in the south where it narrows to become the Davis Strait which connects the bay to the Labrador Sea. The bay is over 2000 meters deep but is only seasonally navigable due to all the icebergs drifting southward with the Labrador Current.
