Asheville

Asheville is located along the French Broad Rivers, where the Swannanoa River joins it, at the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains (part of the Appalachian Mountains), North Carolina, United States of America. It has a population of 84 thousand in the city proper.1 The tallest building in early 2014 was the Buncombe County Courthouse (16 stories, 1928), but its most famous building is the Biltmore Estate (1892),2 much visited by tourists. They also enjoy the Blue Ridge Parkway, a scenic drive which passes by the city.
