読谷 (Yomitan) is a city-sized village (son) of 41 thousand1 located on the East China Sea coast of south central Okinawa Island, Okinawa Prefecture, ⽇夲 (Nippon or Japan). The UNESCO World Heritage Site, "Gusuku [castle] Sites and Related Properties of the Kingdom of Ryuku," includes one site in the city: Zakimi Castle.2 Perhaps the tallest building is the ten story Hotel Nikko Alivila-Yomitan Resort Okinawa (1994).3
