Verona is a city of 260 thousand1 and a metropolitan population of 714 thousand2 within its own province located on the Adige River in the Veneto Region of northeastern Italia.3 The tallest building is the Torre dei Lamberti (276 feet, 1464).4 UNESCO honors the city as a World Heritage Site. From the Roman era are gates, a theatre and the Ampitheatre Arena Verona. The medieval era is represented by the duomo5 (rebuilt in the 12 the century and then added to since). From the Renaissance era are the piazzas (plazas) delle Erbe and dei Signori and their fronting buildings that include: the palazzos (palaces) del Commune and del Governo; the Loggia del Consiglio; Arche Scaligere; and Domus Nova.6
