Třebíč

Třebíč is a smallish city located on the Jihlava River1 in Morava (Moravia), in the Česká (Czech) Republic. It has a population of 39 thousand.2 Its old Jewish Quarter and a basilica are together honored by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. While the Jews that used to live in the quarter were deported in World War II, the quarter preserves the buildings, both the sacred and the mundane. St. Procopius's Basilica started as a 13th century monastic church and is a mix of Romanesque and early Gothic styles.3
