Târgu-Mureş (formerly Marosvásárhely) is located along the Mureş River1 in central România. In 2011 it had a metropolitan population of 213 thousand, with 134 thousand in the city proper.2 The tallest building is the Mureş City Hall (1907, with an architectural height of 197 feet).3 The mathematician, János Bolyai worked out his non-Euclidean geometry here.
