Târgu-Mureş

Târgu-Mureş (formerly Marosvásárhely) is located along the Mureş River¹ in central România. In 2011 it had a metropolitan population of 213 thousand, with 134 thousand in the city proper.² The tallest building is the Mureş City Hall (1907, with an architectural height of 197 feet).³ The mathematician, János Bolyai worked out his non-Euclidean geometry here.
