Świdnica, formerly Schweidnitz, is a city in Doinośląskie Province, Polska (Poland) on a feeder to the Odra (Oder) River. It has a population of 60 thousand.1 It is honored by UNESCO for its Peace Church, allowed to be built by Lutherans, a national minority, by the Treaty of Westphalen (1648). The Catholic Cathedral of St. Stanislaus and St. Vaclaus, built from 1330 to 1488, is 338 feet high.2
