Stralsund

Stralsund is located along the Strelasund Strait separated mainland Deutschland (Germany) from the island of Rügen. Originally it was on an oval island. Its medieval center is a World Heritage Site, honoring the Sundische Gothik architectural style, best shown in the 14th century town hall.¹ Today's city has just over 50 thousand people.² The tallest building is the Marienkirche (Mary's Church), at 104 meters.³
