Stralsund

Stralsund is located along the Strelasund Strait separated mainland Deutschland (Germany) from the island of Rügen. Originally it was on an oval island. Its medieval center is a World Heritage Site, honoring the Sundische Gothik architectural style, best shown in the 14th century town hall.1 Today's city has just over 50 thousand people.2 The tallest building is the Marienkirche (Mary's Church), at 104 meters.3
