The only South Asian city that topped one hundred thousand in 1500 or 1600 that is not mapped is Ahmadābād (in Gujarat, which I group with two small union territories). (The area is mapped for other periods--just not this one.) Ahmadābād began and ended the century in the 100-199 thousand range.
