Sighișoara is a city of about 33 thousand residents1 located along the left bank of the Greater (Mare) Târnava River2 in central România. Its historic center is honored as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Of note are the walled citidel; traditional houses with barrel-vaulted basements and ground floor workshops; the Clock Tower; the Gothic Church of St. Nicholas and long staircases connecting parts of the city.
