Semarang

Semarang is located in the north center of Central Jawa Province, on the north coast Jawa Island, Indonesia. Its metropolitan population is 6.544 million,1 with 1.556 million in the city limits.2 The tallest building as of late 2017 is the Best Western Star Hotel & Apartment (29 stories, 381 feet, 2012).3 The city retained is importance as a port and regional administrative center after the islands gained independence. The city's Achmad Yani International Airport is one of the nation's busiest.4
