San Sebastián

San Sebastián, a city of over 186 thousand,1 with a metropolitan population of nearly 405 thousand,2 is located on the former course and delta of the Urumea River, now canalized,3 in Gipuzkoa (Guipúzkoa) Province, in País Vasco Autonomous Community, España (Spain). It is located along one of the routes for pilgrims heading to Santiago de Compostela; the routes in España (Spain) constitute a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Beaches such as La Concha are a popular tourist attraction.4 The tallest building in the city is the Torre (tower) de Atotxa (249 feet). Another notable building is the Kursaal, one of the main locations of the city's film festival.5
