Piazza Armerina

Piazza Armerina (locally called Ciazza) is a city of 21 thousand1 in the hills of the center of the island of Sicilia,2 toward the southeast and in Enna Province, Italia.3 Just outside of the town's center is the partly excavated Villa Romana del Casale, famous for its mosaics, including one of the capture of wild animals in Africa, and another of sportswomen clothed in what we would now call bikinis. The ruins are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.4
