Onitsha is located on the left bank of the Niger River in Anambra State, Nigeria, just below the inflow of the Anambra River. As of 2010 nearly 1.6 million people live in its metropolitan area.1 Its majority probably speak Igbo2 and are Christians. One notable building is Rojenny Stadium, used for soccer. The bridge over the Niger is the first road crossing above the mouth.
