Newcastle

Far northeast, nearly to Scotland, at the mouth of the Tyne, is the proverbial coal town: Newcastle.1 The metropolitan area of 1.6 million2 also includes the cities of Durham, famed for its castle and its cathedral,3 and Wallsend, the eastern terminus of Hadrians Wall.4
