Nancy is a city of 104 thousand1 located along the Meurthe River2 in Meurthe-et-Moselle Department of the Lorraine Region in France. UNESCO honors three baroque squares by giving them together the status of a World Heritage Site. They are the Place (plaza) Stanislas with its Amphitrite Fountain, the Place de la Carrière and the Place d'Alliance. The tallest building is the Tour (tower) Thiers, a 28 story commerical building (1975).3
