Мурманск (Murmansk)

Мурманск (Murmansk) is the capital city of its oblast, on the north shore of the Kola Peninsula--that is, along the Murman Coast, and in the Northwest Federal District of Россия (Rossiya1). The city became significant in the 20th century as a military port. As of 2014 it has an estimated population of 299 thousand.2 The Hotel Artika (185 feet) is the tallest building, although two wired masks and one framed mask are taller.3 The city hosts an important commodity port.4
