Харків (Kharkiv)

Харків (Kharkiv), formerly Харьков (Khar'kov), sits at the confluence of three rivers that are part of the Northern Donets system in northeastern Україна (Ukrayina). The city has a metropolitan population of over 1.6 million.1 For a time in the 20th century it was capital of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, part of the Soviet Union. It is famous for its large Freedom Square.

The tallest buildings in 2012 is the 23 story residential tower, Advantage, although a taller building is planned.2
