Κέρκυρα (Kérkura or Kérkyra)

Κέρκυρα (Kérkura or Kérkyra),¹ is a city of 25 thousand² in the center of the east coast of the island that bears its name, one of the Ioniou Islands that are west of mainland Ελλάς (Ellás)³ and are part of the Decentralized Administration of Peloponnísou, Western Elládas.⁴ Its old town with its Venetian and British buildings is honored by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Its airport just south of the city is one of the nation's busiest.⁵
