Jaipur

Jaipur(1), the capital of Rajasthan, India, has nearly three million residents(2007). It is famed as an example of urban planning, and for its monuments: the Nahaar Garh fort overlooking the city; the Jal Mahal, a water palace; the Hawa Mahal or 'hall of winds', made in the shape of honeycomb; and the Jantar Mantar, an observatory. Nearby is the former capital, Amber, with its own set of monuments.
