Ἴλιον (Ilion)

Ἴλιον (Ilion), also called Τροία (Troia), later called Īlium and Trōia, and in English, Troy, was an ancient city in what is now northwest Türkiye (Turkey), by the Aegean (Egeo, Ege) Sea, brought to legendary renown by H?mēros (Homer), unearthed in the 19th century, and now honored as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ruins included the odeion (concert hall) and the bouleuterion (council house).1
