Ibiza (Town)

Ibiza, a city of nearly 50 thousand,1 is located on the east coast of Ibiza Island, in the Islas Baleares (Balearic Islands) province and autonomous community of España (Spain). The entire island, and Formentera Island as well, constitutes a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It honors the islands' biodiversity; the Phoenician-Punic era (the Puig des Molins necropolis and the Santa Caleta settlement); the Christian medieval period (Catalan castle, fortifications and cathedral); and the Renaissance period (Alta Vila fortifications).2 The island is a popular tourist destination.3
