חיפה (Hefa)

חיפה (Hefa or Haifa), is a coastal city in northwestern ישראל (Yisra'el or Israel), built on the slopes of Mount Carmel with a metropolitan population of 1.356 million.1 It is an important comodities port.2

Tourists are drawn to the spectacular hilltop views of the Bahá'í Gardens above the cityscape; the gardens and their associated shrine are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site honoring Bahá'í religious places.3

The tallest building is the 450 foot Sail Tower, named for its convex side's appearance to a full sail. Below the arches supporting the bulge is art work commemorating Hefa's history.4
