Hannover

Hannover,1 Deutschland,2 is the center of a metropolitan area of 1.1 million, with less than half of them in the city proper. It is located on the right bank of the Leine River,3 where the Mittelland Canal crosses the river. Sights include the Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen, the City Hall,4 with its diagonal-elevator climbing a dome; the Opera House; the Leine Palace; the 82 meter high Administration Building5 Nord; the city's oldest skyscraper; the Anzeiger Tower Block;6 and the mushroom-shaped International Science Institute.
