Ḥamāh

Ḥamāh, also spelled Hama, and formerly called Hamath, is the capital of the province of the same name in Sūriyya (Syria) and a modern city of more than 500 thousand residents.1 It is famous for its waterwheels of watering pots along the 'Āṣi (Orontes) River.
