This arm of the Arabian Sea, and thus part of the Inidan Ocean, extends northwest, narrowing and getting shallwer as it does. At its deepest it reaches below 3,500 meters. It connects the Strait of Hormuz to the Arabian Sea and separates Iran from the end of the Arabian Peninsula.
