Florianópolis

Florianópolis, a city of 462 thousand,1 is centered on the island of the same name but extends to the mainland and to other small islands, in Santa Catarina state, South Region, Brasil (Brazil). The tallest building is Hotel Majestic Palace (248 feet, 2001). The no-longer-used Ponte (bridge) Hercílio Luz is the city's most famous structure.2 The area is served by an airport with the same name as the bridge, which is one of the nation's busiest.3
