Constanța is a city of 293 thousand on România's Black Sea coast. It is the largest port on that sea. It is famous for the homesick laments of the Roman poet, Ovid, who was exiled here at the end of his life. Besides its Orthodox Christian churches, the city hosts a mosque that is the regional center of Islam, which has a giant Turkish carpet.
