Compiègne is a city of 40 thousand1 located along the Oise River,2 just downstream from where the Aisne contributes its waters, in the Oise Department in the Picardie (Picardy) Region of France. The parochial church of Saint-Jacques is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site for Routes of Santiago de Compostela in France.3
