Cahors, with 20 thousand residents,1 is located in a u-bend of the Lot River2 in the Lot Department of the Midi-Pyrénées Region of France. UNESCO notes three local items as part of a World Heritage Site honoring the pilgrimage routes in France toward Santiago de Compostela: the Saint-Étienne cathedral; the Valentré bridge and the path (Chemin du Puy) between Bach and Cahors.
