Cáceres

Cáceres, a city of nearly 96 thousand,1 is located south of the Tajo (Tejo or Tagus) River, in Cáceres Province, Extremadura Autonomous Community, in España (Spain). The tallest building is the Torre (tower) of Cáceres (15 stories, 168 feet, 1963).2 The old town is honored as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Islamic period structures include walls and towers, such as the Torre del Bujaco, and narrow streets and tiny squares. The imperial period structures include defensive towers, coat of arms decorations, the Palacio Godoy and the Palacio de los Toledo-Moctezuma.3
