Brescia

Brescia (locally called Brèsa) is a city of 190 thousand1 centered east of the Mella River,2 in the foothills of the Alpi,3 in its eponymous province in the Lombardia (locally Lumbardia)4 Region of Italia.5 The tallest modern building is the Crystal Palace, an office building (361 feet, 1990).6 UNESCO honors the 'monumental area with the monastic complex of San Salvatore-Santa Giulia' as part of a World Heritage Site about the 'Longobards' (Lombards) in Italia. The core of the complex dates to the eight century CE.7

The mathematician known as Niccolò 'Tartaglia' was born in Brescia before moving to Venezia.8
