Bremen

Bremen, Germany,1 has a metroplitan area of 1.1 million, with less than half of them in Bremen itself. It is centered on the right bank of the lower Weser, with its port at the mouth. Besides a 15th century statue of Roland, the city has a 13th century2 cathedral, a 15th century town hall and interesting low rise contemporary complexes. The statue and the old townhall constitute a World Heritage Site.
