This sea, part of the Pacific Ocean, lies between the Celebes, Buru, Ambon, Ceram, the southern Moluccas and the Lesser Sundas from Flores to Alor. Its borders with nieghnboring seas are ill defined. Its southeast Banda Basin drops below 6000 meters, and southwest of Boru is a less extreme place: the North Banda Basin.
