Ávila

Ávila, a city of over 59 thousand,1 is located on the right (east) bank of the Adaja River, a tributary of the Duero (Douro), in its eponymous province, in Castile and León Autonomous Community, España (Spain). The older quarters constitute a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This includes the walls, with their scores of semi-circular towers; the cathedral, partly built into the city walls; and churches outside the walls such as San Pedro Extra-Muros.2
